Matt Bomer has opened up about his coming out experience.

Since making his debut in the early 2000s, the beloved talent has captivated audiences with his dreamy good looks and superb acting performances in White Collar, Fellow Travellers and The Normal Heart, to name a few.

While Bomer has found immense success in the entertainment industry, his journey hasn’t always been a walk in the park, especially as a gay actor in Hollywood.

In a recent interview on Sony Music Entertainment’s Dinner’s On Me Podcast, hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, the American Horror Story star reflected on his coming out journey and how news outlets hijacked his coming out moment.

“It was that time when folks could kind of take over your own personal narrative before you even had a chance to. So I remember like outlets, like Perez Hilton and things talking about my personal life before I had ever had a chance to even do it myself. And it wasn’t because I didn’t want to, I didn’t even have an opportunity to,” he explained.

“No media outlet was ever going like, ‘Hey.’ I just didn’t have a career that warranted that. And so it felt kind of unfair to me that that was stolen by people who did have a microphone all the time.”

While Bomer’s coming out moment was stolen, the 47-year-old took back the narrative when he publicly addressed his sexuality during the 2012 Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.

“You know, there’d be pictures of Simon and our kids and I, and I didn’t want them to feel like they were some kind of shameful secret or something I was sweeping under the rug so I could have a great career or something. When I had the opportunity to do it, it was perfect,” he continued.

“The amazing Diane Carroll, who I was lucky enough to work with for six years on White Collar, was hosting me for this event, and it was a humanitarian event, and I was like, ‘I’m gonna thank my family because that’s what someone would do in the circumstance.'”

When Ferguson pointed out that the headlines labelled his speech as a coming out declaration, Bomer added: “Yeah, and that’s okay.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the Maestro star dished about his new hit sitcom Mid-Century Modern and the comparisons to the iconic The Golden Girls.

“It’s a spiritual sister cousin to Golden [Girls]. It’s about found family, which I think that show had a lot to say and within a lot of humour and wit,” he explained.

“I think it tries to address certain social issues and things like that. And so I think it has a little bit of Norman Lear in there too. But yeah, I can see why folks would draw that comparison. I would say some of the archetypes are similar. Some are maybe a little bit different.”

Created by Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, Mid-Century Modern follows “three best friends — gay gentlemen of a certain age – who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother.

“As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done.”

Bomer plays the lovable and ditzy Jerry Frank, Nathan Lane portrays the love-hungry and witty Bunny Schneiderman, and Nathan Lee Graham plays the boujee and refined Arthur.

Rounding out the cast is the late Linda Lavin, who portrayed Bunny’s crass and loving mother, Sybil Schneiderman.

You can watch all 10 episodes of Mid-Century Modern on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.

Matt Bomer has revealed his favourite sex scene from Fellow Travelers.

In October 2023, the critically acclaimed historical drama made its grand debut on Showtime and Paramount+ in the UK.

Based on Thomas Mallon’s novel, the Ron Nyswaner-created show follows the volatile romance of Tim Laughlin (Jonathan Bailey) and Hawkins Fuller (Bomer), two very different men who meet in the shadow of McCarthy-era Washington.

While the Emmy-nominated show has been praised for its stellar acting performances and heartwrenching subject matter, the eight-episode miniseries also turned heads for its handful of graphic sex scenes.

From toe-sucking and oral sex to unbridled threesomes and intense cruising moments, the show held nothing back when exploring the different facets of gay sex.

While all of Tim and Hawk’s sexcapades have made massive waves with fans, Bomer recently revealed that their intense sex scene in episode one was his favourite among the bunch.

“The first [scene] we did was the first time we figured out how we were going to do these scenes and how Johnny and I were going to collaborate,” he explained in a recent interview with PRIDE. “It set the template for everything else that happened on the show.”

Bomer’s recent interview comes a few months after he gushed about Showtime and production company Freemantle encouraging him and Bailey to push the envelope when filming the series’ explicit content.

“I have to say creatively on this, so much of my cynicism was obliterated, particularly by the fact that we were lucky enough to work with Fremantle and Showtime, who from the beginning were giving us notes that weren’t constricting at all,” he explained.

“They were actually liberating. They were saying, ‘No, go farther. Embarrass yourself. Go too far. Try to scare us. Try to see how far you can push it.’ And that kind of permission, I felt, even bled into the acting work on set because it came from the people who were in power who could make those decisions.”

The Normal Heart star isn’t the only member of the Fellow Travelers team to discuss the show’s sex scenes.

In a sit-down with GAY TIMES, Nyswaner opened up about shining an empowering light on gay sex within the series.

“For me, when I came out in the 70s, those were the celebratory days of the gay experience. It was pre-AIDS, and we were released. Sex is the way that we express our community,” he explained.

“No one was going to get married. We were all going to live in communes. We had all raised children together. That’s what we all thought in the 70s, including my straight friends. That connection that I got to have with other gay men, whether it was one night or a little bit longer, it was very powerful to me, and it gave me joy.

“That excitement and that joy, dancing to Donna Summer and doing poppers on the dancefloor, sex was at the heart of our gay revolution… We wanted the sex to be powerful in Fellow Travelers, because I believe it is a really powerful part of the gay experience.”

All eight episodes of Fellow Travelers are now available on Paramount Plus in the UK and US.

Matt Bomer has reflected on Fellow Travelers and whether it would have been greenlit in 2025.

Back in October 2023, LGBTQIA+ TV enthusiasts were treated to the critically acclaimed historical drama.

Based on Thomas Mallon’s novel, the show follows the volatile romance of Tim Laughlin (Jonathan Bailey) and Hawkins Fuller (Bomer), two very different men who meet in the shadow of McCarthy-era Washington.

Following its release, Fellow Travelers received universal acclaim, with fans and critics praising the series for its stellar acting performances, gripping subject matter, dynamic scripts and Bomer and Bailey’s electric chemistry.

The show also received various nominations from some of the biggest award shows, including a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Limited or Anthology Series or Television Film.

While Fellow Travelers was a massive hit in 2023, Bomer recently theorised that the show might not have seen the light of day if they tried to make it in 2025.

“I’m grateful that we were able to get the show made. I don’t know that it would get made today, just because of certain circumstances in the industry. The way certain things are tightening up, you know?” he explained to Outseemingly referencing the current wave of conservative politics and studio rollbacks of DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) initiatives.

“I’m so grateful that we got in there in that window and had great executives who let Ron [Nyswaner] tell the story the way he wanted, and the interactions with folks.”

Paramount Plus

Towards the end of his statement, Bomer reflected on the fan feedback Fellow Travelers has received, describing it as “overwhelmingly moving.”

“I’m really happy and grateful that folks responded to it the way they did,” he added.

Bomer’s recent interview comes a few weeks after he had a Fellow Travelers reunion with Bailey, following the latter’s Richard II performance in London.

“What a phenomenal performance by @jbayleaf, and the entire cast of Richard II at the @_bridgetheatre,” Bomer wrote on Instagram.

“Beautifully directed and acted. If you’re in London, don’t miss it. And if you’re not in London, it’s worth the trip! Congratulations my friend! Now through May 10.”

Thankfully, the gay gods made sure that we’d see Bomer and Bailey’s reunion, with photos and videos of them exiting the stage door flooding social media.

In one wholesome clip, Bailey brought Bomer to a fan who had Fellow Travelers tattooed on their forearm.

“Thank you for stepping out, Matt. Fellow Travelers means everything to me,” the fan exclaimed in the video.

In response, Bomer expressed his gratitude to the individual, telling them: “Wow, that’s incredible!”

Bailey added: “I had to show him that amazing tattoo.”

Fellow Travelers is now available to stream on Paramount+.

Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer had a long-awaited Fellow Travelers reunion, and fans are ecstatic.

On 23 February, the White Collar star attended a performance of the Bridge Theater’s new production of Richard II, starring the hunky Bridgerton and Wicked star.

Thankfully, the gay gods made sure that we’d see Bomer and Bailey’s reunion – with photos and videos of them at the backstage door flooding social media after the show.

Of course, the pair’s reunion and aforementioned video was an immediate hit with fans.

One Bailey and Bomer enthusiast wrote: “Beautiful friendship!! I love them.”

Another fan tweeted: “In 2025. Please protect them and their friendship from all evils.”

A third user added, “HawkTim together again,” alongside a string of crying face emojis.

“Matt hopping on that 10 hrs flight to go support his Jonny! I love my dads!!!” another fan commented.

Back in October 2023, Fellow Travelers captivated LGBTQIA+ TV viewers worldwide.

Based on the lauded Thomas Mallon novel of the same name, Bomer and Bailey respectively led the series as Hawkins Fuller and Tim Laughlin.

Fellow Travelers chronicles the highs and lows of their relationship over the course of four decades whilst exploring the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the “drug-fueled disco hedonism” of the 1970s and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s.

Additional cast members include Jelani Alladin as Marcus Gaines, Linus Roache as Senator Wesley Smith, Noah J. Ricketts as Frankie Hines, Allison Williams as Lucy Smith, Will Brill as Roy Cohn and Chris Bauer as Senator Joseph McCarthy.

Upon its release, the show received universal acclaim, with viewers and critics praising the series for its stellar acting performances, gripping subject matter and the electric chemistry between Bomer and Bailey.

The show also made waves during the 2024 award cycle, earning two Golden Globes nominations and three Emmy nominations – including Best Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actor for Bomer and Bailey, respectively.

While Fellow Travelers has been billed as a “miniseries”, showrunner Ron Nyswaner and producer Robbie Rogers told Entertainment Weekly in September 2023 that it could possibly develop into an anthology that would “track different queer fellow travelers across history”.

“Yes, I think that there are many stories to be told, and Robbie and I have spoken in detail. Because of the strike, we haven’t spoken to any of our studio executives about it,” said Nyswaner.

In a follow-up conversation with GAY TIMES, Nyswaner said he hasn’t “shared those discussions with his “employers, so this will be news to them!”

Describing the series as “one of the greatest experiences of his life, the creator teased of the show’s future: “If I can continue, in some way, that’s a conversation to be had with the people who will be financing that. But, we will be having that conversation.”

A release date has been confirmed for Jacob Elordi and Diego Calva’s queer drama On Swift Horses.

Based on Shannon Pufahl’s novel of the same name, the story follows newlyweds Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Lee (Will Poulter), who decide to leave Kansas City to start a new life in San Diego, California.

Lee’s brother Julius (Elordi), a Korean War veteran and wayward gambler, ruffles their idyllic feathers as he forms a connection with his new sister-in-law. Although Lee is keen for them to remain in San Diego, Julius moves to Las Vegas and falls in love with his casino co-worker Henry (Diego Calva).

Meanwhile, Muriel also undergoes a journey of self-discovery by secretly gambling on racehorses and forming an intense connection with her new neighbour, Sandra (Sasha Calle).

On Swift Horses premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival at 7 September 2024, and it set to be released in the U.S. on 25 April.

The film is directed by Daniel Minahan, whose extensive television work includes The L Word, Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood, House of Cards, Game of Thrones and Fellow Travelers.

Minahan has also collaborated multiple times with Ryan Murphy, having directed all five episodes of Halston and one episode each for both Hollywood and Ratched.

According to Vanity Fair, On Swift Horses will include “several rich, emotional and explicit love scenes” between Elordi and Calva.

In an interview with the publication, the latter – known for his Golden Globe-nominated performance in Babylon – said he and Elordi had “a week of intensive [prep] in the motel room, and Dan gave us a lot of freedom to run around and to play and to find that love within those four walls.”

The Saltburn star didn’t reveal much in the interview, but credited Paul Newman’s films with trying to “build a voice around the way” his character “spoke, and movement around the way he moved”.

Meanwhile, Edgar-Jones described the film as “wonderfully queer”, adding: “Dan was really helpful in guiding that and making sure that we were also being authentic to that period and that experience.”

“Zaddy,” “oh my god” and “a loss for the heterosexuals” are just a few of the many relatable, and NSFW, fan reactions to these new Jonathan Bailey photos.

On February 5, celebrity trainer Rik Melling shared new photos of the Fellow Travelers star in workout mode, ahead of his performance as Fiyero in Wicked.

In his caption, Melling said that working on the musical blockbuster was “such a dream”, and that he and everyone involved knew it was “going to be something special, and it really was”.

He praised Bailey for the “time, work, and effort” he put into training, calling his dedication to shaping his physique for the character “next level”: “The results speak for themselves. It was a true pleasure to work with someone so dedicated.”

The “swole” photos immediately went viral after X/Twitter accounts, such as Pop Base, Film Updates and Pop Crave, reshared them.

It resulted in thousands of thirsty responses, from “he needs me” to “we were robbed of that shirtless scene” and “Wicked Part 2 will be taking place in my bed”.

Bailey’s performance as Fiyero received overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans and critics, earning him nominations at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and Critics’ Choice Awards. He will return as the Winkie prince in the upcoming sequel, Wicked: For Good.

Besides Wicked, the British actor has made waves in the industry in recent years with the following roles: Anthony Bridgerton in Bridgerton (2020-present), John in Cock (2022) and Tim Laughlin in Fellow Travelers (2023).

Later this year he will star as Dr. Henry Loomis in Jurassic World: Rebirth, alongside Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend and Ed Skrein.

Jonathan Bailey joins forces with Scarlett Johansson in the first trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth.

The upcoming blockbuster, and seventh film in the iconic franchise, is set five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion (2022) when the “planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs”.

“Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived,” the synopsis reads. “The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”

Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a covert ops expert who has been hired to lead a team to extract DNA from “the three most gargantuan dinosaur species left alive”.

Her team includes Bailey’s palaeontologist, Dr. Henry Loomis, her partner Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali) and Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend), a “representative of the drug conglomerate funding the expedition”.

The team will encounter a civilian family “whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos,” which leads to the characters being “stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.”

Additional cast members include Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez), Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF) and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).

In the first action-packed trailer, Henry is shocked by Zora’s admission that she can “more or less” keep him safe on their mission, before they come face-to-face with “the largest dinosaurs on the planet”. There’s references to the original Jurassic Park, Henry makes cheeky quips about their wild circumstances and the franchise unveils a whole new set of dinosaurs.

The trailer received praise online, especially for Bailey’s performance and his return to the “sassy nerd” archetype, a role he famously portrayed as Tim Laughlin in the Emmy-nominated queer drama Fellow Travelers.

“WE’RE GETTING JONATHAN BAILEY AS BRATTY NERD ONCE AGAIN LMFAO,” said one enthusiastic X/Twitter user, while another wrote: “The new Jurassic World trailer heavily supports my belief that Jonathan Bailey should be the biggest movie star in the world.”

A third tweeted: “Oh sexy nerd Jonathan Bailey i am in love with u.”

Jurassic World: Rebirth will be released 2 July 2025. Watch the trailer below, and keep scrolling to see how fans reacted to Bailey’s new character Duncan.

Blow-jobs! Rimming! Toe-sucking!

Sex scenes are back, and they’re hornier than ever.

WORDS BY SAM DAMSHENAS

The industry’s sanitised, sexless era has finally fizzled out.

The 2010s witnessed a sharp decline in erotic mainstream filmmaking as a result of increasing scrutiny from the internet (and sometimes, those within the industry) over whether sex scenes are necessary in driving the plot forward. Although billion dollar franchises didn’t hesitate to gratuitously flaunt actor’s ripped bodies – for example, Chris [insert any last name here, honestly] in [again, insert any superhero film] – general raunchiness took somewhat of a hiatus.

Now, TV and film is horny again! 2023 smashers such as Oscar-nominated dramas Poor Things and Oppenheimer and, of course, Emerald Fennell’s bathtub thriller Saltburn heavily contributed to the industry’s increasing acceptance towards on-screen raunchiness.

And, from an LGBTQIA+ perspective, the sex is better than ever. For a while, straight-washing intimate scenes between two queer characters was the norm. This past year, however, has seen the community engage in blow-jobs, rimming, anal, armpit-licking, toe-sucking and – this one’s important – levitation. The accuracy… wow.

Here, we’re celebrating the 11 best GBQ male sex scenes of the decade (so far) in television and film.

All of Us Strangers (Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott)

Paul Mescal telling Andrew Scott that he’s been “thinking about sucking” his “cock” is the queer art that Megami was saying we need to “protect” on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Give Megami her flowers! In Andrew Haigh’s fantasy romance All of Us Strangers, Adam, a screenwriter, falls for his cheeky and mysterious neighbour Harry at the same time as he discovers his long-dead parents seemingly alive and well in his childhood home. (A rather eventful week for one person, eh.) Scott and Mescal’s chemistry is indisputable, particularly in their first intimate scene. With the two actors passionately caressing each other’s thighs before Harry performs fellatio (we’re using classy words, for now) on Adam, it’s steamy as hell, while also perfectly capturing the awkwardness and excitement of a first sexual encounter. Nude and sex scenes can often be gratuitous, but here, the sex is instrumental in depicting the blossoming romance between two rather lonely people. The Academy Awards are such a flop for snubbing this film.

Bros (Billy Eichner and Luke Macfarlane)

Whether you liked Bros or not, you can’t deny it delivers a rather accurate (and hilarious) depiction of how adventurous and kinky gay sex can be, especially with Luke Macfarlane and Billy Eichner’s dom-sub bedroom romp. After play-fighting leads to a smooch in a public park, Aaron (Macfarlane) and Bobby (Eichner) relocate their horniness to the former’s apartment, where he forces Eichner’s sardonic podcaster to lick his biceps before crushing his head and feeding him poppers. Penetrative sex is followed by a rather sweet conversation in which Aaron confides in Bobby about his dreams to be a chocolatier. That bit’s not important, but we liked it. For [insert really long time here], gay sex on-screen has been portrayed as somewhat similar to what the straights do – very false! – so it’s a breath of fresh air to see an intimate queer scene that’s not just kissing-missionary-cuddles.

Fellow Travelers (Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey)

As everyone knows, GAY TIMES is extremely passionate about advancing the rights of those within the toe-sucker community, and thankfully, Fellow Travelers brought the rather marginalised act to mainstream attention last year. Paramount’s period drama chronicles the volatile romance between two men over the course of four decades; from the Vietnam War protests of the 60s to the AIDS crisis of the 80s. Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey’s names were plastered over headlines as a result of their plethora of intimate sex scenes (we are also guilty of this), which was embraced by showrunner Ron Nyswaner. He told us: “If people are talking about Fellow Travelers, that’s all I care about.” The most iconic sequence occurs within 20 minutes of the first episode, with the sub-dom dynamic of their respective characters Hawkins Fuller and Tim Laughlin on full display as Bailey devours Bomer’s foot. We repeat: devours. This is the gay sex representation we need and deserve. Rights for toe-suckers, now!

It’s A Sin (Olly Alexander and various)

As well as receiving praise for its poignant depiction of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, award-worthy performances and for bringing a significant part of LGBTQIA+ history to a mainstream audience, It’s A Sin was lauded for its portrayal of queer desire. While the drama heavily illustrates how society demonised gay sex during this era, the first episode boasts a rare portrayal of queer sexual liberation when Olly Alexander‘s free-spirit Richie Tozer is seen hooking up with various men in a now-iconic montage.

Interview with the Vampire (Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson)

The limp-wrist elements of Anne Rice’s iconic gothic horror novel Interview with the Vampire were finally embraced on-screen with AMC’s acclaimed series, as opposed to the disappointingly sanitised 1994 film with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Told from the perspective of Louis (Jacob Anderson), the series sees the bloodsucker recount his past life and toxic relationship with his sire and lover, Lestat (Sam Reid). In the first episode, the duo have a threesome with a sex worker called Ms. Lily, before fobbing her off to levitate in the air while Lestat sinks his fangs into Louis’ neck – butt naked, we should add.

Passages (Ben Whishaw and Franz Rogowski)

For two consecutive minutes, Ben Whishaw’s backside is the main character of Passages as the actor passionately thrusts into co-star Franz Rogowski. With the one-take shot, absence of a musical score and the lack of fear in actually showing how two men boink (the placement of Rogwoski’s hand – the first time we’ve ever seen this in TV or film, actually), it’s one of the most believable sex scenes in history. The Motion Picture Association’s decision to rate the film NC-17 was condemned by fans and director Ira Sachs, who called it a “form of cultural censorship that is quite dangerous, particularly in a culture which is already battling, in such extreme ways, the possibility of LGBT imagery to exist”.

Red, White & Royal Blue (Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez)

Red, White & Royal Blue is one of the decade’s most popular LGBTQIA+ flicks (so far), because, y’know: Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez. Based on Casey McQuiston’s championed novel of the same name, the rom-com follows the star-crossed romance between Henry (Galitzine), a British Prince, and Alex, the son (Perez) of America’s first-ever female president (played by Kill Bill icon Uma Thurman!). From their Omar Apollo-assisted oral encounter to their secret horse-racing romp, the film was surprisingly faithful to the novel’s steamy hook-up scenes. But, it’s their first (penetrative) sex scene that is their most memorable and romantic. As director Matthew Lopez told us, it’s Alex and Henry “having a moment of deep, emotional connection”, and Galitzine and Zakhar Perez’s electric chemistry sells it every goddamn time.

Queer (Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey)

While Queer‘s second slice of fornication showed a bit… more, aka booty and anal, it was the first sexual encounter between Lee (Daniel Craig) and Allerton (Drew Starkey) that had viewers in heat. After taking Allerton to dinner, the two relocate to Lee’s dungy flat to consume more alcohol, take their kit off and – in the former’s case – vomit. Romantic! Despite that, it undeniably leads to the film’s most sensual and erotic scene as Lee caresses and kisses Allerton’s bare chest, sinks his fingers into his mouth and blows him. Following a cum-soaked kiss (please forgive my usage of words, I’m truly stumped on how else to say it), Lee finishes himself off. Thank you, Luca Guadagnino!

Queer as Folk (Devin Way and Johnny Sibilly)

Although the Queer as Folk reboot was met with glowing reviews from critics for its more diverse representation of the LGBTQIA+ community, the public never warmed to the series and it was unjustly cancelled after one season. However, in time we expect the series to be retroactively appreciated for its unabashed portrayal of queer intimacy and desire. Creator and writer Stephen Dunn explained that it was important for him to go “full throttle” with all the sex to deliver “an authentic queer experience that is relatable for us”. While there’s plenty of love-making scenes we could highlight, the raunchiest is between Noah (Johnny Sibilly) and Brodie (Devin Way) in episode two. With the moody blue gleam, sweat trickling down Way’s backside and Sibilly holding onto his scene partner’s butt for dear life (am I an erotic writer now?), it’s the closest scene on this list to studio porn, basically.

Saltburn (Barry Keoghan and Archie Madekwe)

Saltburn is chockablock with scandalous scenes of the sexual variety, from Oliver (Barry Keoghan) performing oral on Venetia (Alison Oliver) during her monthly time to Oliver lustfully slurping Felix’s (Jacob Elordi) cummy bathwater and, of course, Oliver rubbing one out on Felix’s grave. While the psychological thriller is mostly Keoghan’s character yearning for Elordi, Saltburn does feature an actual sex sequence between two male characters in Oliver and his rival, Felix’s shady cousin Farleigh (Archie Madekwe). After Farleigh embarrasses Oliver at a party, Oliver sneaks into his room and commands him to “behave” as he brings him to completion. Farleigh is evicted from the titular location the following morning; it’s later revealed that Oliver used Farleigh’s phone while he was sleeping to frame him, leading the family to banish him from the premises. Sex! Betrayal! Love it!

The White Lotus (Murray Bartlett and Lukas Gage)

The first season of HBO’s scandalous drama The White Lotus achieved major virality after a miffed resort guest walks in on hotel manager Armond (Murray Bartlett) with his face buried in the ass cheeks of employee Dillon (Lukas Gage). With the lack of rim-job representation on telly, it shocked audiences – including those who partake in rimming, because it’s usually an act that’s only witnessed in real life, or on [insert gay porn site here], not a prestigious network. Gage later said on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live that he wants to “normalise rimming”: “Ass-eating needs to be talked about more. In the script it was sex, and we’ve seen sex on TV. Let’s have some ass-eating.” Yes to all of that.

The first images have been released of Jonathan Bailey in rehearsals for Nicholas Hytner’s production of Richard II.

Described as a “fresh take on Shakespeare’s subtle, caustic and powerful play,” it will star Bailey as the “charismatic, eloquent and flamboyantly witty” title character.

“And a disastrous King – dishonest, dangerous, and politically incompetent,” reads the synopsis. “Echoing down the centuries is the perennial problem: how to deal with a ruler who has a rock-solid right to rule but is set on wrecking the country he leads.”

The play will follow “two startlingly modern figures: Richard, an autocrat who believes he is divinely sanctioned, and Henry Bullingbrook (played by Royce Pierreson), a hard-headed pragmatist who has genuine authority.”

The cast also includes Christopher Osikanlu Colquhoun as Earl of Northumberland, Olivia Popica as Queen Isabel, Amanda Root as Alice Green and the Duchess of York, Phoenix Di Sebastiani as Thomas Mowbray and Groom, Clive Wood as John of Gaunt and Michael Simkins as the Duke of York.

More incoming: Adam Best as Sir John Bagot, Seamus Dillane as Lord Surrey, Vinnie Heaven as Aumerle, Jordan Kouamé as Sir John Bushy and Harry Percy, Gerard Monaco as Sir Stephen Scroop and Keeper, George Taylor as Lord Fitzwater and Badria Timini as Abbess of Carlisle.

While Bailey is best-known for his roles as Anthony Bridgerton in Bridgerton (2020-present), Tim Laughlin in Fellow Travelers (2023) and Fiyero in Wicked (2024), the British actor began his career with productions at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

His stage credits include Othello (2013), The Last Five Years (2016), King Lear (2017), The New York Realist and Company (2018).

For originating the gender-swapped role of Jamie in the latter, Bailey won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical.

Bailey next stars as Dr. Henry Loomis in Jurassic World Rebirth (2 July), and will reprise his role as Fiyero in Wicked: For Good (21 November).

Jonathan Bailey and Andrew Scott are on the prowl for their first-ever collaborative project.

Over the last few years, the two acting talents have captivated pop culture enthusiasts with incredible performances and their dreamy good looks.

Scott, who rose to fame with roles on Sherlock (2010-2017) and Fleabag (2019), was recently lauded for his work in the LGBTQIA+ romantic drama All Of Us Strangers (2023), and has since starred in Ripley and the audio erotica series The Queen’s Guard (both 2024).

Bailey first hit mainstream success in 2020, following his alluring performance as Anthony Bridgerton in Netflix’s acclaimed Regency-era drama Bridgerton.

2023 also proved to be a massive year for the Wicked star, with him receiving widespread critical acclaim for his performance as Tim Laughlin in Paramount+ and Showtime’s period drama Fellow Travelersfor which he earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor.

While Scott and Bailey have expertly crafted their own lanes in the entertainment sphere, the two talents are reportedly interested in working together.

In a recent interview for Bailey’s British Vogue feature, Scott revealed that he and the 36-year-old were on the lookout for a project to collaborate on.

“The search for us to be in the right thing together is on. Bert and Ernie, the movie is the frontrunner, it just depends on who’s willing to shave off their eyebrows,” he teased.

In addition to chatting about their potential film or TV crossover, Scott gushed about Bailey’s meteoric rise within the industry and their close-knit friendship.

“There’s a big wonderful tribe of friends in London to which we both belong,” he explained to the publication.

“As well as being the most charismatic and gifted performer, he’s always struck me as someone who adores and prioritises his friends, and family and loved ones. That counts for so much in my book. It’s so wonderful to watch Jonny soar.”

While we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Bailey and Scott to appear in a film or TV show together, their friendship has already broken the internet.

Back in November, social media was thrown into disarray when a photo of the two actors alongside Matt Bomer and Paul Mescal – went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Of course, the All of Us Strangers and Fellow Travelers crossover was an immediate hit with fans, with many sharing hilarious and thirsty reactions.

In July 2024, Bailey and Scott made waves again when they used their well-defined biceps to carry Kylie Minogue to her BST Hyde Park concert.

It’s safe to say that a potential film or TV series starring the two talents would be a hit with fans.
