Cynthia Erivo has been cast as Dracula in a one-woman adaptation of Bram Stoker’s iconic vampire novel.

Set to premiere next year in London’s West End, the production comes from the Australian creatives and producers behind the Tony-nominated Broadway hit The Picture of Dorian Gray, which starred Succession’s Sarah Snook.

Erivo will play the titular Count, along with 22 supporting characters, in a production described as an “intoxicating, blood-pumping reimagining of the immortal gothic horror”.

Adapted and directed by Kip Williams, Dracula marks Erivo’s first role on stage since playing Celie in The Color Purple, for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical and Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

“Returning to the stage feels like a homecoming, one that I’ve been craving for a long time. To do so with a story as rich, complex, and haunting as Dracula offers a beautiful opportunity to delve into character, into myth, and into the heart of what makes us human,” Erivo said in a statement.

“From the moment I was asked, I could not get the role out of my mind. Kip’s vision is thrilling, terrifying, and deeply resonant, offering a chance to sit with not only the darkness in the world, but also the light we fight to hold onto.

“It’s a rare gift for an actor to inhabit so many voices and perspectives in one piece, and I’m honoured to do it for West End audiences in this extraordinary production. The prospect of doing this show scares me and I know it will be a huge challenge. This show will ask everything of me — and I’m ready to give it.”

Photo: Universal Studios

William praised Erivo as “extraordinary” and a “singularly gifted artist”, revealing that his take on Dracula will offer “a contemporary perspective on the vampire as a monster that lurks not beyond, but within”.

In an interview with Deadline, Michael Cassel, producer and CEO of Australia’s Michael Cassel Group, confirmed that Erivo was approached for Dracula nine months ago as she was in the midst of her promotional tour for Wicked.

Erivo memorably played Elphaba in Jon M. Chu’s acclaimed blockbuster, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

“She has really spent most of her time with Kip just talking through the inspiration and the dramaturgy of it all,” said Cassel. “For them to connect in that way has been important for them because this is a show that they go and create together.”

He confirmed that the production won’t be a “blueprint” of the Sydney version, which played at the Roslyn Packer Theatre in 2024 and starred Australian actress Zehra Newman as the ancient blood-sucker.

“I think what’s so exciting, I think for her, and for us, while we know what the story is, they get to go and create this role in the rehearsal room in London together,” continued Cassel, “and that was very appealing to Cynthia to put her own interpretation on the role and explore that with Kip.”

With Erivo playing 23 characters, including Dracula, Jonathan Harker, Mina Murray, Lucy Westenra and Van Helsing, Cassel “couldn’t be happier with Cynthia leading the charge”.

Dracula is set to haunt London’s Noël Coward Theatre for a strictly limited 16-week engagement from 4 February to 31 May 2026.

News of Erivo’s casting follows the recent announcement that she will take on the role of Jesus Christ in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar.

The production will run at the Hollywood Bowl from 1 to 3 August, under the direction and choreography of Tony Award winner Sergio Trujillo. Fellow Tony recipient Stephen Oremus will serve as musical director and conductor.

From his arrival in Jerusalem to his crucifixion, the iconic rock opera chronicles the final days of Jesus’s life, with a particular focus on Judas Iscariot’s crisis of faith and growing disillusionment with Jesus’ influence.

Adding to her packed schedule, Erivo is also set to reprise her role as Elphaba in Wicked: For Good, which hits cinemas on 21 November 2025.

Lil Nas X has shared a new health update following his scary medical emergency.

On 14 April, the ‘HOTBOX’ singer uploaded a video to his Instagram revealing that he lost control of the right side of his face and was in the hospital.

“When I smile… this is me doing a full smile, by the way, it’s like what the f**k,” the young talent explained while lying down in a hospital bed. “Bruh, I can’t even laugh, right. Bro, what the f**k. Oh my god.”

Naturally, Lil Nas X’s post sparked worried reactions from fans, with one person commenting: “I really hope this is just temporary and stress-related… sending all the positive and healing vibes!”

Another fan on BlueSky wrote: “This happened to a friend of mine when he was in his 20s. It was Bells Palsy.”

While the ‘DREAMBOY’ rapper has remained mum on his exact condition, he recently returned to social media to assure fans that he’s doing okay in a series of Instagram Stories.

“Guys, I am ok!! Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead,” he wrote in one post. In another, Lil Nas X wrote that he would “look funny for a lil bit, but that’s it,” alongside two crying emojis.

The Grammy winner also shared a video showcasing his facial improvement.

“Okay, so I’ve been chewing a lot so I can get this muscle stronger. It’s much better. It’s much better,” he explained.

“My eye still has to play catch up, but I can give a genuine smile, so that’s good. I’m still winking at mothaf**kers, but yeah.”

In a final Instagram Story addressing the situation, the 26-year-old talent exclaimed that nothing could ruin his “dreamboy summer”.

Lil Nas X’s recent medical incident comes a month after he officially kicked off his new music era with the release of his latest EP, Days Before Dreamboy.

Positioned as a precursor for his upcoming sophomore studio album DREAMBOY, the project includes all of his recently released singles, including ‘HOTBOX,’ ‘LIGHT AGAIN!’, ‘need dat boy,’ ‘RIGHT THERE!’ and ‘LEAN ON MY BODY.’

In a recent interview with PAPER Magazine, Lil Nas X opened up about his new music era and what he plans to bring to the table.

“I wanted to be void of darkness. I wanted to be full of light and full of joy. I hated feeling like I was cookie-cutter all the time, but if I’m honest, that’s my personality,” he explained.

“At my core, I’m a bubbly, fun bitch. I wanted to express that in this era.”

The ‘SWISH’ artist also teased what fans can expect from the DREAMBOY LP, describing it as a collection of “everything and anything I’ve ever loved or hated”.

“The DREAMBOY era isn’t just an album. It’s me spanning across multiple genres, multiple periods of my life, different stories,” he said.

“Some lyrics are super deep and intimate, and some are like, ‘I don’t give a f**k. Let’s f**king party and suck dick.’ DREAMBOY is a collection of everything and anything I’ve ever loved or hated.

“It’s just me going out there and doing me in whichever form I feel. I’ll say that much.”

We hope Lil Nas X has a speedy recovery.

Issa Rae and Emma Corrin’s sapphic Black Mirror episode has left fans absolutely gutted.

On 10 April, the hit anthology series made its grand return following a two-year hiatus.

Like previous entries, season seven takes a deep look at “humanity’s worst traits, greatest innovations and more” across six stand-alone episodes.

Since its release, Black Mirror season seven has received universal acclaim from critics and fans – with many praising the show’s writing, cast performances, and thought-provoking concepts.

The season has also secured an 89% certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, one episode that thoroughly captivated fans –especially LGBTQIA+ viewers – is ‘Hotel Reverie.’

In the episode, A-list acting talent Brandy Friday (Rae) agrees to star in a remake of the classic romantic movie Hotel Reveire using the immersive AI software Redream.

Stepping into a gender swap version of the film’s lead character, Brandy stars alongside her favourite Hollywood actress, Dorothy Chambers (Corrin). However, remaking the classic film is easier said than done for Brandy, who gets stuck in the AI simulation and falls in love with Dorothy.

Over the last few days, fans on social media have celebrated the emotional sapphic episode, with one person on X/Twitter writing: “The black mirror episode with Issa Rae and Emma Corrin ……. my heart is aching.”

Netflix

A second viewer echoed similar sentiments, tweeting: “Yeah, give Hotel Reverie all the awards. I’m talking Emmys, Grammys everything. A cinematic masterpiece.”

A third fan added: “Hotel Reverie just fucked me up and I genuinely don’t think I’ll be ok for a little bit…. not even tryna be funny or relatable or kiki. as a longer and a yearner, storylines like that ruin my life.”

Some viewers also compared ‘Hotel Reviere’ with another iconic sapphic Black Mirror episode, ‘San Junipero’ (season 3).

“The new season of #BlackMirror could potentially be one of its best. Hotel Reverie episode is the new San Junipero and deserves all the awards!” one fan tweeted.

In a recent interview with Out, Rae opened up about the episode’s emotional story, praising its writer and creator, Charlie Brooker.

Netflix

“I have to give credit to Charlie and his depiction and obviously his imagination, but even in the character of Dorothy, for the character of Dorothy in the episode, it shows the fact that Dorothy was queer during this time period where she couldn’t really acknowledge those feelings and couldn’t be who she really was. And that is what ultimately led to her demise,” she told the news outlet.

“There’s this beautiful element in my character’s decision to remake this movie. Dorothy gets a chance to be who she is, even though she is this fictional character, she ultimately becomes who she’s meant to be.”

All seven seasons of Black Mirror are now available to stream on Netflix.

Following its long-awaited vinyl release, Ethel Cain’s debut album Preacher’s Daughter has finally reached the top ten in the US.

The critically-acclaimed album, released in 2022, also debuted at number-one on Top Album Sales with 39,000 equivalent album units, marking her best week yet. As a result, Cain makes history as the first openly trans woman to achieve a top ten album on the Billboard 200.

(Kim Petras’ highest-charting entry on the Billboard 200 was her debut album Feed the Beast, which reached #44. She did, however, become the first openly trans artist to win a Grammy Award and peak atop the Billboard Hot 100 with her Sam Smith collaboration, ‘Unholy’.)

Amid the Trump administration’s relentless attacks on the trans community, which have fostered an increasingly hostile environment for trans people in the US, the impact of seeing an openly trans icon like Ethel Cain succeed on the charts cannot be overstated.

Here’s hoping Ethel Cain scores a second consecutive top ten entry — maybe even a number-one?! — with her upcoming sophomore release, Willoughby Tucker, I Will Always Love You.

Slated for release in August 2025, the album picks up where her eerie ambient detour Perverts left off — and will reportedly act as a prequel to Preacher’s Daughter.

Alongside the album, the singer-songwriter will embark on her “biggest tour to date”, Willoughby Tucker Forever, with venues including London’s Eventim Apollo, Paris’ L’Olympia, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, Berkeley’s Greek Theater.

The first teaser trailer for Benito Skinner’s upcoming LGBTQIA+ comedy Overcompensating is here.

Created, written, and executive produced by the beloved social media personality, the upcoming series follows Benny (Skinner), a closeted college freshman, and his hilarious and heartwarming journey to self-acceptance.

The official synopsis reads: “Overcompensating is a college-set ensemble comedy about the wild, chaotic journey of Benny (Skinner), a closeted former football player and homecoming king, as he becomes fast friends with Carmen (Wally Baram), a high school outsider on a mission to fit in at all costs.

“With guidance from Benny’s older sister Grace (Mary Beth Barone) and her campus-legend boyfriend Peter (Adam DiMarco), Benny and Carmen juggle horrible hookups, flavoured vodka, and fake IDs. Deeply funny and personal, the show explores the lengths to which we all overcompensate while on the path to finding out who we really are.”

The cast also includes Connie Britton as Benny’s mother Kathryn, Kyle MacLachlan as Benny’s father John, Rish Shah as Miles, Nell Verlaque as Emily, Corteon Moore as Gabe, Holmes as Hailee, Owen Thiele as George, Austin Lindsay as Trey, Tommy Do as Kevin, Kaia Gerber as Esther, and Julia Shiplett as Mimi, Cooper Levy as Mitch and Chiara Diberto as Zoey.

At the start of the short teaser, Benny (Skinner) is fantasising about a shirtless Miles in a dorm room bathroom stall. After achieving peak arousal, Benny rushes to his room to seemingly have sex with Carmen, his new college friend.

Chaos-fueled clips then flash across the screen, teasing homoerotic fraternity rituals, awkward roommate run-ins, and college party debauchery.

Lastly, the 52-second clip features a hilarious cameo from a popstar, Grammy winner, and BRAT summer connoisseur Charli XCX – who also serves as the show’s executive music producer.

“You think I want to play fucking ‘Boom Clap’ at a fucking college? Are you joking?!” the beloved talent shouts.

Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long for the release of Overcompensating, which is set to premiere on 15 May.

In October, Skinner opened up about filming the show during his appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast.

“It was a really, truly unbelievable experience. I feel like I learned so much about myself and the way I make things, and I was so inspired by working with the cast,” the beloved talent explained.

“I just dissociated so many times because I would be like, ‘I wrote this scene four and half years ago, and now I’m seeing an actor that I have respected my whole life doing it, and I’m kind of me but not really me and Mary Beth [Barone] kind of looks like my sister, but it’s not really her.”

The former GAY TIMES cover star went on to discuss how he approached writing his character Benny and the show’s semi-autobiographical storylines.

“I was inspired by the feelings and what happened in college to me. And then from there – I feel like it’s not that interesting to write a character that is someone exactly like you,” he said.

“They don’t really jump off the page. And it’s not as fun, it’s more fun to think of like, ‘Well, here’s his new vessel of an idea you want or a feeling you want or a relationship you want. Build a character out of that.’ So, it’s inspired by a lot of things.”

Two years after slaying the charts with ‘Flowers’, Miley Cyrus is embarking on a brand new era.

On 24 March, the Grammy winner unveiled the artwork and release date for her highly-anticipated ninth studio album, titled Something Beautiful.

Featuring 13 original tracks, the album is executive produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett, renowned for his work on critically acclaimed albums like Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour, Adele’s 30 and Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter.

The Canadian producer previously collaborated with Cyrus on her 2023 single ‘Used to Be Young’.

The artwork, shot by fashion photographer Glen Luchford, features a close-up of Cyrus in “archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture,” a “nod to the album’s bold aesthetic and visual storytelling”.

Something Beautiful marks Cyrus’ first album since 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation, which featured ‘Flowers’—one of the most-streamed songs in history and the winner of  two Grammys: Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

The lauded album also included the dance-pop single ‘River’ and pop-rock hit ‘Jaded’.

Since its release, Cyrus has collaborated with Pharrell Williams on the glam-pop track ‘Doctor (Work It Out)’ and Beyoncé on the country ballad ‘II Most Wanted’. The latter won the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

Something Beautiful is due for release on 30 May. Check out the stunning artwork below.

Bad Bunny’s sexy Calvin Klein collaboration has sent fans into a thirst-fuelled spiral.

On 17 March, the popular clothing brand celebrated the release of its “Icon Cotton Stretch” underwear with a jaw-dropping ad campaign starring the ‘DtMF’ singer.

In addition to a seductive photo spread – which was shot by renowned photographer Mario Sorrenti – the campaign features a promo video of Bad Bunny putting his Calvin’s to good use.

Set to his track ‘EoO,’ the first video starts with the Grammy winner looking seductively into the camera while posing in the underwear.

The clip then features shots of Bad Bunny dancing, shadow boxing and pulling down the elastic of the waistband before it concludes with him zipping up a pair of jeans.

“The vibe is infinite. Do you have your Calvin’s on?” he says.

The second half of the video opts for a black-and-white look and gives a closer look at Bad Bunny and his form-fitting white boxer briefs.

The responses were as you’d expect, with one fan speaking for all of us as they wrote: “The lengths I would go for this man is beyond human comprehension.”

“I’m so beside myself about this man,” tweeted another, while a third wrote: “I’ve never wanted to be underwear so bad.”

Calvin Klein

In a statement, Bad Bunny expressed excitement for his partnership with Calvin Klein, describing it as “gratifying”.

“This has been in the works for some time now, seeing it finally come to life has been gratifying,” he said.

“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this brand’s iconic campaign, and getting to shoot it in Puerto Rico made it that much more special and genuine.”

Calvin Klein

In an additional interview with GQ, Bad Bunny gave insight into how he prepared for his extremely hot Calvin Klein campaign, revealing that he ate “super clean and trained as much as possible”.

“I had a whole routine focused on my physique and getting into the best shape for this campaign,” he added.

While the ‘VeLDÁ’ singer stuck to a rigorous plan before the shoot, he revealed that his first thought after completing the collaboration was food.

“All I could think about once we wrapped the campaign was eating everything on the menu at Lala. But what I was craving the most were the Manchego croquetas and the crispy tuna rice,” he told the publication.

Aside from his popular underwear campaign, 2025 is looking to be a busy year for the LGBTQIA+ ally, who is gearing up for his sold-out 30-day concert residency in Puerto Rico.

Titled No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí, the upcoming set of shows is in support of his acclaimed album DeBí TiRAR MáS FOTos, which dropped on 5 January.

Bad Bunny’s exciting residency kicks off on 11 July at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico – with the first nine shows exclusively available to Puerto Rico residents – and ends on 14 September.
